Now that Marie works at a restaurant run by Bruno Mercier, a multi-starred chef, she is obsessed with perfecting her skills. But Thomas, the sous-chef, is wary of this possible rival. Marie cuts herself while cooking, and a few drops of blood fall into her sauce. When Bruno tastes Marie's dish, he considers it perfect.
