Love in Thoughts

Does the highest point in life really exist? Günther (August Diehl) and Paul (Daniel Brühl) are sure of it. They want to live to the fullest and without compromise - and they expect as much from love. Together with Günther’s sister Hilde (Anna Maria Mühe) they spend the weekend at a summer house in the country. Paul is fascinated by the girl and falls in love with her. And initially it seems that the feeling is mutual. But Hilde loves many people. She secretly meets with Hans - Günther’s former lover. They celebrate a fabulous party in the garden of the house. When Hans surprisingly joins them, he sets in motion a rollercoaster of feelings that is soon out of control. Intoxicated by absinthe and music, great yearning and a lust for life they are swept up in a fatal current.
